Designed for use in high end computer rack power strips this board demos
the shunt patent, IP, and provides a practical volume manufacturing
solution.
Generally I don't do much board design but since this is a small
board I did the whole thing. I.e.
- Schematic design.
- Board layout and assembly.
- Software development for the on board PIC.

PCI Ethernet Board

While Snr. Director Engineering for SMC I was responsible for several
external deals.
Shown left are SMC's first PCI Ethernet cards. Seeing that we could
not develop a first generation PCI board in time I did a deal for the
silicon that helped introduce this board more quickly.

I was responsible for engineering management during the development of
the very high volume board, running board and silicon design groups.
However, I did add some hardware suggestions to the chip circuit which
allowed the board to pipeline data transfers and allow SMC to compete
effectively on performance. |
Switch Mode Power Supplies / Inverters

At the age of 17 I was a already a professional designer! At Garners
transformers I designed a series of switch mode power supplies for
military applications. For many of the products I also designed the
transformers / magnetics. |
